Thank You United Way and S.O.S.

Griffin Center received a one-time Community Investment grant from United Way to fund our five week summer 2010 day camp at three public housing sites. 300 children took the USA Road Trip summer experience gaining reading, math and map skills while increasing their physical activity and enjoying a nutritious breakfast and lunch each day.

Griffin Center is honored to have been selected by the Spirit of St. Louis (SOS) Women’s Fund to receive one of 2010 grant awards. SOS connects women across the bi-state region to collectively strengthen the St. Louis region through informed, focused grant-making. The 200+ members each contribute $1,200 a year, with 90% of all member gifts used to fund grants to St. Louis area nonprofit organizations.

About the Griffin Center

Griffin Center, an agency of Catholic Urban Programs, was founded in 1986. The parent agency has been in existence since 1971, serving the needs of the very poor, homeless, and indigent aged of the metro East St. Louis region.
